How the 66 non-responses divide

  • 30 were sent the request and a follow-up (August 10, 2026) and did not reply.

Reading these numbers

  • These are what districts reported. Nothing was observed in a classroom or audited.
  • A “no dedicated K-8 course” reply is not a finding that a district broke a rule. This audit does not assess compliance.
  • Non-responses are not evidence of absence. A district that did not reply may offer instruction.
  • Replies that did not settle the question (high-school-only answers, “no responsive records,” referrals to a form or portal) are counted as replies but not as “no dedicated course.”

Method, coding rules and limitations are in the methodology. Last reply logged September 8, 2026.
